Chapter Chapter 6 in Rural Poverty, Growth, and Inequality in China, 2022, pp 135-163 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Since the reform and opening up, Chinese rural households' production and operation activities have shown diversified characteristics, which are entirely different from the planned economy period and different from other developed and developing countries. China has a vast territory and a large population. Different regions have different cultural customs and economic levels. Such economic realities lead to differences in income growth, inequality, and poverty among different rural households. This chapter mainly introduces these differences based on case studies.
