Chapter Chapter 8 in Climate Change Economics, 2022, pp 135-150 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Greenhouse gas emissions come from human economic activities and serve the ultimate target of human race development. Therefore, the reduction of GHG emissions should not compromise human race development. Human race development involves some essential emissions to meet the basic needs of human race development. Meanwhile, some other emissions are unnecessary, luxurious, or wasteful and conflict with the target of human race development.
