Abstract:
Abstract The relationship between BrazilBrazil and the People’s Republic of ChinaPeople’s Republic of China (PRC) began in the 1970s as a Global South dialogueDialogue in search of a multilateral world. However, the BrazilianBrazilian military regime was suspicious of the Mao Zedong’sMao Zedong administration and was slow to develop bilateralBilateral actions. Only with Brazil’s return to democracy in the 1980s, there was the start of high-level visits and cooperation projects such as the joint satellite program. In the 1990s, they created the innovative concept of “strategic partnership” and then a new idea in the foreign policy of both countries. But it was only fully implemented 10 years later, with the global commodities boom.
