Chapter Chapter 11 in Empowerment Through Agency Enhancement, 2022, pp 217-229 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter summarizes the main achievements of this book addressing the question: “What moves people to take initiatives?” and sets out the agenda for further research. The main points of discussions from Anthropology, Psychology, and Economics on the common theme “agency and its development” are compared and synthesized, with a view to presenting multifaceted understanding of factors and mechanisms involved in the exercise and development of agency and to highlighting unique contributions from each discipline and from interdisciplinary research. Also included are reports of attempts at measuring agency and/or visualizing its development. The tasks ahead are presented for disciplinary and interdisciplinary research.
