Chapter Chapter 9 in Commercialisation and Innovation Strategy in Small Firms, 2022, pp 417-447 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The chapter starts with a definition of isolating mechanisms, drawing on the resource-based view (RBV) theoretical framework—which suggests IMs offer useful strategic barriers to competitive imitation, contributing to competitive advantage, such as the ownership of specific assets or resources, or the possession of formal intellectual property (IP) rights in facilitating the commercialisation process—for guidance.
