A chapter in Cultural Entrepreneurship, 2022, pp 53-66 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores how conventional airports in Thailand should innovate their business model in response to changes in the business environment. Local and regional public airports that are the responsibility of the Department of Airports (DOA) are employed as a case study. Using an exploratory research approach by collecting in-depth information from stakeholders of Thailand’s airports, we proposed three airport business model innovations suitable to the given contexts of local and regional airports in Thailand. These are the Airport-as-a-cultural-tourism Platform Business Model, the Local Entrepreneurship-and-engagement Business Model, and the Value Proposition-oriented Business Model (Chutiphongdech, European Journal of Tourism Research 28:1–6, 2021).
