Abstract:
Abstract This research is devoted to the solution of two main problems connected with the operation of information and integration digital platforms. The first problem is their definition, which may be broad or narrow; the broad definition of information and integration digital platforms is controversial, while the narrow one demands a unique criterion to differ these digital platforms from the others. Such a criterion is formulated as the ultimate goal of users that should be obtaining information. Legal regulation is studied in two spheres: personal data protection law, and antitrust law. These were chosen not as the only spheres but as the primary ones. Moreover, these spheres are closely connected to each other. The authors arrive at the conclusion that in most cases, general regulation is enough to regulate information and integration digital platforms. Nevertheless, it still may be improved with special provisions, taking into account the peculiarities of digital platforms as a class. Finally, the authors agree that in the legal regulation of information and integration digital platforms, the balance between regulation by the government and self-regulation should be kept.
