Abstract: Abstract The main task of this chapter is to comprehend the process of expanding data collection, to characterize it, and also to identify the main trends. The development of digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence, requires the accumulation and processing of huge amounts of data. Fully supporting the development and growth of digital innovations, the authors ask the question: how dangerous can data collection be for a single state, a separate jurisdiction, and society as a whole. In the course of an in-depth and comprehensive study of the trend of expanding data collection, the authors managed to formulate key areas of legal regulation by jurisdictions around the world of this process.
