Chapter Chapter 7 in Finite Element Method, 2022, pp 159-169 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In previous chapters, the finite element analysis procedures using the 1D elements (bar and beam) and the 2D elements (triangular and rectangular) are introduced. In this chapter, the FE analysis procedure using the 3D elements (tetrahedron and hexahedron) is introduced. In fact, the FE calculation procedure is the same, except for the formulations of the shape functions, the displacement field formulations, etc. Therefore, the readers should pay attention to the similarities and differences between the contents presented in this chapter and those in the previous chapters.
