Chapter Chapter 1 in The Rise of the Indonesian Financial Service Authority, 2022, pp 1-20 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter introduces the problem that while Indonesian political elites keep agreeing on ASEAN initiatives for a more open and liberal international portfolio investment regime, as is evident within the top ASEAN leadership, at the bureaucratic level domestic authorities in Indonesia evidently show different responses to maintain the existing regime. Overall, in responding to more open and liberal portfolio investment liberalization, officials either still decline to join a related ASEAN strategic initiative or maintain the existing regulatory regime.
