Abstract:
Abstract The main objective of this chapter is to explore the relationship of market globalization with the Indian energy sector. It analyzes the historical perspective and role of market globalization in boosting the economy. The expanding and globalized Indian economy demands more energy requirements. Globalization in India has many aspects and implications for the energy sector. It enhances the process of rapid urbanization, which ultimately affects the energy sector. In the last few decades, it achieves satisfactory growth and performance with the rise of huge opportunities for the domestic and global market as well. But still have the presence of key challenges in this sector. Apart from reviewing the historical perspective of market globalization in India, this chapter tries to highlight the present status of energy demand, existing opportunities, and challenges associated with this sector.
