Chapter Chapter 11 in China’s Reform: History, Logic, and Future, 2022, pp 139-150 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter shows that the six characteristics of a harmonious society—democracy and rule of law, equity and justice, integrity and fraternity, vitality, stability and order, and harmony between human beings and nature—can be fully realized by establishing and perfecting the modern market economy system. Therefore, the way towards a harmonious society is not to return to the traditional state-ownership system and government-controlled economy but to accelerate marketization reform and establish and mature democracy and the rule of law.
