Chapter Chapter 21 in China’s Reform: History, Logic, and Future, 2022, pp 281-290 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Opening up to the outside world and domestic reform have been the indispensable dual-drive wheels for continuous progress in China’s social and economic development over the past 40 years and the primary causes of China’s achievements in alleviating poverty, enriching the people, and strengthening the nation. China has much more room for opening-up in many fields, with huge development potential. Opening-up remains the source of power for sustained economic growth and new momentum for reform amid China’s current weak reform consensus and attenuated reform impetus.
