Chapter Chapter 3 in Distributed Cooperative Model Predictive Control of Networked Systems, 2022, pp 49-66 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Considering the limited wireless resources, this chapter focuses on the communication problem for NCSs and aims to guarantee the desired control performance with less communication usage. An event-triggered DMPC algorithm for NCSs with asynchronous communication is developed, where every controller is activated to receive its neighbors’ states and broadcast its updated state to neighboring subsystems only when the predefined event occurs. An event-triggering condition is constructed considering the decrease of the Lyapunov function along with the triggering instants rather than the sampling instants, so as to reduce communication load. In addition, to expand the feasible region and guarantee a satisfied static performance, the set level of the terminal constraint is minimized and optimized between the maximal control invariant set and the target terminal set. Simulation results are provided to verify the event-trigged DMPC algorithm.
