Abstract: Abstract Syamadas Mukhopadhyay (S. D. Mukhopadhyay) was born at Haripal in the Hooghly district of West Bengal on 22 June 1866. His father Babu Ganga Kanta Mukhopadhyay being in the state judicial service had different places of posting, and as a consequence Syamadas had to study in different institutions at different times.
