Abstract:
Abstract The objective of this chapter is to discuss the establishment of an Innovative Sustainable Business Model (ISBM) within a southern Thai small village (Kiriwang) during the Covid-19 pandemic recovery. Since the end of 2019, the pandemic has greatly affected the Thai economy, particularly in the service and industry sectors and sustainability issues have long been a cause for concern. The ISBM in this research is described as corresponding with the current existing theoretical sustainable business model to capture the sustainable values from the systematic analysis of the current condition. The sustainable values are captured from four dimensions: value surplus, value absence, value destroyed, and value missed. Semi-structured interviews were conducted in Kiriwang Village in order to understand the dynamics of the community and business environments, and the findings were compared with similar cases that have already been undertaken in the other countries. Advanced digital technology provides an essential role in poverty alleviation. Digital technology provides a new alternative to improve the current economic condition and offers tools to ensure sustainable development in environmental protection and social responsibility. However, adapting the realistic condition with the cooperation of all stakeholders is the essential key to the success of the ISBM.
