Abstract:
Abstract This Italian expression means “No translation does justice to the original”. The best photocopy machine could produce better image than the original but cannot fully reproduce some subtle features of the original piece; the best camera cannot reproduce some nuances of the landscape; and that is why we praise Picasso: he was able to present some striking messages in an abstract form which is very different from the original image.
