Chapter Chapter 6 in Adam Smith and Yan Fu: Western Economics in Chinese Perspective, 2022, pp 55-68 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In some of his 310 translator’s notes, Yan Fu expressed his own comments. They are not systematic arguments, in many occasions, he expressed feelings, sentiments and impromptu ideas. His ideas are not mature enough to be named “thought,” but the contents are rich enough to answer the following issues.
