Chapter Chapter 4 in The Era of Longevity, 2023, pp 97-119 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The previous chapters present a panorama of the era of longevity, health and wealth. In this chapter, we turn our eye to the real world and seek a sample for observation and analysis. Japan, globally speaking, is the first country to enter the era of longevity. If the threshold of the longevity era is when the population aged 65 and over takes up 25% of the society, Japan has met the standard as early as 2014, and the proportion even increased to an astonishing 28.7% in 2020, ranking top in the world.
