Abstract:
Abstract A proper summary of the experience in social infrastructure development aid to Xinjiang is the key to promoting people-to-people ties and steady progress of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) through social construction. Such experience is to take the development of social undertakings as an integral part of the work for supporting Xinjiang’s development, so as to share the reform dividends among everyone. The social infrastructure development aid is designed to build up Xinjiang’s sustainable development capacity, realize the organic integration of “supporting Xinjiang”, “stabilizing Xinjiang” and “prospering Xinjiang”, and promote Xinjiang’s economic and social development at the same time. Based on this aid-to-Xinjiang experience, the construction of CPEC shall obey four principles: put people first, and insist on co-construction and sharing; meet the needs of people, and win their support and recognition; promote resident-city interaction, and strengthen coordinated development; form social composite strength, and encourage organizational involvement. In short, on the basis of summarizing the experience in social infrastructure development aid to Xinjiang, the vigorous construction of CPEC will promote the benign development and smooth operation of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
