Abstract: Abstract China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was born in a complicated international environment. This chapter mainly discusses the issues that China and Pakistan should both pay attention to while implementing CPEC, namely, the geopolitics, energy politics, connectivity politics and cognitive politics. Four countermeasures are put forward based on the analysis. First, China should focus the friendship nature of CPEC, regarding it as bilateral cooperation, and splitting it from BRI. Second, it is important to communicate with Iran, Afghanistan and other related countries for integrating the proposed energy pipelines and connectivity projects within the region, by which to explore a feasible plan towards mutual benefit and win-win outcome for regional peace and prosperity. Third, do not ever expect India to support CPEC unless dramatic changes could ever take place in India-Pakistan relations or the Kashmir conflict be solved completely. Get prepared in case India protests against or impedes CPEC by all means. Fourth, China should address the cognitive gaps in understanding CPEC between the two countries’ people, and keep an eye on the influence of CPEC on Pakistan’s domestic politics.
