Abstract: Abstract The modern world exists in a state of constant change. While the transition to the digital economy was already underway, COVID-19 has only served to further accelerate the process. Digital entrepreneurship in the age of COVID-19 is generating rapid innovation. —Elise Ghitman. 2020 is all about experiencing Charles Darwin’s theory—Survival of the fittest—practically. COVID-19 has turned out to be a game changer in all ways. Social distancing is presently the most evident way to slow the spread of the virus until a vaccine could be reliable enough to keep our people safe and sound. As a result, anything that relies on human-to-human contact—which is to say, most aspects of our lives—must be amended to account for the dangers of the virus. We are in the beginning of 2021, and given the pandemic scenario, this is an apt time to explore options available online and to fulfil the dream of becoming an entrepreneur and that too without spending much. The present-day world is packed with prospects along with the assurance of success, growth and happiness. It could be considered a blessing in disguise and the best time to get rid of the mundane routine of 9 to 5/10 to 6 jobs, and hence, it is a wonderful chance to be your own boss apart from creating job opportunities for people, in general. Each person is free to work on his/her own passions/hobbies and transform the same into a lucrative start-up or business venture. Given the amazing exposure and digitalisation at its peak these days, there are plenty of ideas could be turned into fruitful, blossoming businesses and entrepreneurs are making the most of each one of those. Monetarily speaking, the stakes involved are not too high—given the dwindling expenses involved in either zeroing on or/and maintaining a space for the same—if one has a creative insight for starting one’s own venture. Geographical boundaries have begun to diminish; virtually, the seamless reach has turned the wheels of productivity. It is just that one unique idea of yours which should help make things/tasks usefully appropriate for the masses across the board that your success story would begin to be written. One of the main benefits of being an entrepreneur in the digital age is the effortlessness with which businesses can be started online and that too with the comfort of working remotely at all given times. Interestingly, the pandemic has proven to be an excuse to start something or the other of your own in the most creative of the styles. It has proven to be a time which has surely made us think out of the box and develop the tendency of taking (calculated) risks in order to establish some- thing of our own. Starting with e-commerce, to education, to services—you name it, you have its virtual presence. Now, it is your call to identify and explore from the avenues available to all. So, it is primarily that one most appropriate idea which might prove to change your destiny by establishing you as a successful entrepreneur in the longer run. Furthermore, the location, the team size, the logistics—it is all decided by what you desire to do and it has the ability to stay as fixed or dynamic as you want it to be. In digital times and in the pandemic stricken India’s scenario, COVID-19, both the organisations and the users/clients/customers are keen on making the most of this particular circumstance without getting worried about physical presence/high costs/strict deadlines/any other related constraints which would convert it in an ordeal. With an abundance of digitalisation going on all around, it is advantageous to make use of the pioneering digital platform for gaining utmost feat. Hence, we witness modern business owners eagerly engrossed in becoming successful digital entrepreneurs. A “Digital World” is trending all around, and the industrial setups are swiftly adopting the digital revolution to stay put aggressively in the modern era and changing times. The answer to face any adverse situation is the ability for experimentation and innovation with the available digital solutions front and centre. With the correct approach, endeavours can come out of the skirmish efforts and prove more customer-centric than ever before. The present paper is an exploratory work of research on the rise of digital entrepreneurship during the pandemic situation in the Indian context.
