Abstract:
Abstract Developments in information and communication technologies allow the agenda to be followed and interpreted on social media platforms. It causes the information to be shared rapidly without questioning whether it is true or false. The concept of Infodemic has also entered the literature in the context of increasing people's sharing speed related to the COVID-19 pandemic, questioning whether the transmitted information is correct or which type of information disseminates rapidly. This concept indicates the rate of misinformation disseminating among people in times of crisis and mentions the reliability problems in reaching the right information. In this study, which demonstrates the sharing framework of the concept of Infodemic in May and June (2021), the content types of the fake news are examined. In this context, the correctness or inaccuracy of the messages shared from official Twitter accounts and interactions with people have been discussed with a comparative table based on the teyit.org page and suggestions have been made about this subject.
