A chapter in Global Health and Development, 2023, pp 45-48 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract For those unfamiliar with Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), let me say a few quick words. It began in 2000 as an alliance of the key agencies in global health, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Bank, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), and the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, basically in response to acute market failure that made new vaccines unaffordable for low-income countries.
