Abstract: Abstract Structural transformation is a multidimensional dynamic. In the light of present imperatives and on the basis of empirical evidence pertinent to developed and developing nations the book will provide a comprehensive and analytical exposition of structural transformation, and in doing so it will demonstrate the fundamental changes that will underpin the evolution of investment, innovation and institutions. This chapter will provide an overview of growth and structural transformation to enable a better understanding of the empirics underlying productivity, investment trends, technological progress and its interplay with the tremendous potential for opportunity creation.
