Chapter Chapter 8 in Environmental Disaster in China, 2026, pp 209-235 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The impact of air pollution is one of the hotspots attracting continuous scholarly attention, but there is a lack of complete statistical and visual analysis revealing the current research progress. Employing the method of bibliometric analysis, this paper took the relevant literature from 1996 to April 2022 on the Web of Science Core Collection database as the research object. Firstly, keywords co-occurrence and burst detection among other analyses were conducted to visually present the spatio-temporal evolution, cooperation network, major scholars, knowledge base, and key topics of air pollution research. Secondly, high-frequency keywords were grouped into clusters based on keyword centrality and clustering, so that readers can easily understand the main content of research in this field. Finally, the current research status and future trends were discussed based on strategic diagram. This study can provide reference for researchers’ further investigation into the impact of air pollution and for government departments’ formulation of air pollution prevention policies.
