Abstract: Abstract This chapter explains ERP as the core infrastructure for enterprise-wide integration in manufacturing. If CAD and PLM define what is being designed, ERP defines how the enterprise mobilizes procurement, production, logistics, sales, and finance to execute that definition at scale. This chapter emphasizes that ERP is not neutral software but a digital embodiment of organizational architecture, because it encodes roles, workflows, accountability, and performance logic. From an ADX viewpoint, ERP mediates between analog coordination based on tacit judgment and digital coordination based on standardization and visibility. This chapter further argues that ERP success depends not only on technical implementation but on architectural fit, knowledge transfer, and the alignment between digital representations and operational realities. ERP also serves as the backbone linking internal functions with external supply chain actors. Therefore, ERP should be understood as evolving infrastructure that enables cumulative organizational learning, scalable coordination, and enterprise coherence in the digital age.
