Chapter Chapter 8 in Advancing IT Interoperability and Trade Facilitation in Southeast Asia, 2026, pp 295-324 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The accelerated digitalization of global trade systems has ushered in unprecedented opportunities for economic integration, efficiency, and inclusivity. Nowhere is this transformation more evident than within the ASEAN region, where initiatives such as the ASW have significantly reduced barriers to cross-border commerce. However, the increasing complexity of digital ecosystems simultaneously introduces critical vulnerabilities that threaten the security, trustworthiness, and resilience of these trade networks. Cybersecurity breaches, identity fraud, and insufficient data governance can severely undermine the gains made through digital trade facilitation.
