Abstract: AbstractAustralia’s steel industry remains technologically advanced and competitive, centred mainly at Port Kembla and Whyalla. Once dominated by BHP, it has since restructured into separate companies facing global competition and reduced domestic demand. Despite challenges like rising costs and decarbonisation pressures, ongoing innovation, skilled workers, and community support help sustain the industry’s future prospects.
