Chapter Chapter 9 in Modeling and Resilience Recovery for Disrupted Supply Chain, 2026, pp 189-211 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter investigates uncertainty processing in the coevolution of products and supply chains (SCs) using a measure-to-control approach. A decision system framework is presented to incorporate macro-change interactions between products and SCs. From a systematic viewpoint, an interface for measuring and controlling uncertainty propagation is provided, enabling concurrent risk assessment of multiple causes and consequences while allowing control theory to tackle multiple dynamics. Specifically, via effective value and entropy rate measures of bullwhip effect and ripple effect, cost-guaranteed control methods are proposed for attenuating risks of the product-SC uncertainty system. A mask SC application verifies the robustness and resilience of the proposed methods.
