A chapter in Sustainable Economy Models in the Age of Industry 5.0, 2025, pp 145-160 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Some of the necessary focuses for transition towards environmentally conscious industrial practices are the overlapping areas between the green economy and sustainable manufacturing. As Industry 5.0 develops while focusing on human-centric technologies that are environmentally sustainable, the synergy of these two paradigms all the more becomes important. Such principles seek resource efficiency, low emissions, and circularity—the aces for the goals of sustainable manufacturing to make an industrial ecosystem more resilient and eco-friendlier. Industry 5.0, which involves cooperation between intelligent machines and people, presents new solutions to conflicts with sustainability by optimizing processes related to production with low waste and the integration of renewable energy sources. By incorporating advanced technology like artificial intelligence, IoT, and robotics, Industry 5.0 hopes to build environmentally friendly and economically growth-enhancing smart factories. Some of the leading approaches, like cleaner production techniques or digital innovation that may encourage a rapid shift towards sustainable manufacturing in line with the imperatives of a green economy are outlined in this chapter. This chapter provides an overview of changes to such practices like industrial and technological, that could be the outcome of Industry 5.0, Synergy Between Sustainable Manufacturing and Industry 5.0, Technological Enablers for Circular Economy, as it unfolds in the cases of real life and new trends. Thus, Industry 5.0 can be finally positioned as a great enabler of the green economy by promoting sustainable development and by ensuring that economic prosperity and responsibility exist simultaneously for tomorrow’s world.
