Abstract: Abstract This research aims to participate in the ongoing discussion of sustainability by analysing the effect of R&D and Renewable Energy on green economic growth empirically. We have considered green investments, green trade, innovation and technology and environment regulations for R&D and green energy production and energy efficiency for Renewable energy. This research is done with respect to South Asian nations and collects data for the year 1995–2020 from various sources such as WDI and OECD etc. This study employs Pearson’s 2007 cross sectional dependence test to check cross dependency of South Asian economies and unit root tests with or without time trend to check if the first differences are stationary or not. To check the hypothesis, it has applied Hausman test to check if the fixed effect regression model is appropriate or not. According to its results we prefer fixed effect regression model. The result of this study shows that environmental regulations have a negative relationship with sustainable economic development and FDI, technology, green trade, renewable energy and energy efficiency directly impacts on sustainable economic growth.
