Reconciliation

Chapter Chapter 4 in On Politicking, 2025, pp 49-63 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The third way people practice politicking is reconciliation. This is based on the optimistic assumption that people can be brought into mutual accord since they are, by nature, basically good, and capable of behaving in a hail-fellow-well-met way. It sees relationships as being even more collaborative than those above, or at least potentially so. This is still politicking, in that people still seek to prevail, but they no longer try to do so at each other's expense. They choose truth-telling instead, and trust-building, and where deemed possible, they practice social restitution.
