Abstract In this chapter Underscores the critical role of data governance in the development of AI and shows that Asian countries represent a contrast in data governance for AI and digital trade, which may hinder the progress of digital transformation. Signing international trade agreements can be a milestone in establishing clear rules for data access and quality; effective personal data protection; as well as open, machine-readable public data.
