A chapter in STEMM the Bleed, 2025, pp 47-73 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The backgrounds of the women scientists dominate chapter three. We begin with the focus on the qualitative/interview findings. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the woman scientists’ family background and networks? What do these background networks mean for their future success or failure in the scientific world? Did their friends enjoy a similar ‘successful’ career? Does class matter? (Again, quantitative data from the larger survey will be used here as a comparison).
