Abstract: Zusammenfassung S. K. Chakrabarty wurde am 18. Juli 1909 in Barishal im ehemaligen Ostbengalen (heutiges Bangladesch) geboren. Nachdem er seinen Vater Sitala Kanta Chakrabarty im Alter von sechs Jahren verloren hatte, wurde er von seiner Mutter Sarala Devi aufgezogen. Er absolvierte seine frühe Bildung in Ostbengalen. Er bestand seine Abschlussprüfung im Jahr 1925 und die Zwischenprüfung in Naturwissenschaften (I. Sc.) im Jahr 1927.
