Abstract: Zusammenfassung Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao (C. R. Rao) wurde am 10. September 1920 in einer kleinen Stadt namens Huvvinna Hadagalli in der ehemaligen Madras-Präsidentschaft des britisch beherrschten Indiens (heutiger Bundesstaat Karnataka) geboren. Da C. R. Rao das achte Kind seiner Eltern C. D. Naidu und A. Lakshmikanthamma war, wurde er nach der hinduistischen Gottheit Sri Krishna „Radhakrishna“ genannt. C. D. Naidu war Inspektor in der „Kriminalpolizei“.
