Chapter Chapter 17 in Emerging Technology and Crisis Management in The Halal Industry, 2024, pp 251-271 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) is transforming the global business landscape, and the halal food manufacturing industry is not an exception. As halal products gain prominence, the role of the Halal Executive—a professional worker within the halal industry—becomes increasingly pivotal. These professionals are responsible for ensuring compliance with halal principles while also effectively adapting to challenges and capitalizing on the opportunities presented by IR4.0 technologies. Drawing insights from the literature, this chapter explores future competencies required by these halal professionals. The findings offer practical insights for industry professionals and policymakers, highlighting the importance of aligning halal principles with technological advancements.
