Chapter Chapter 1 in Selected Topics in Statistical Inference, 2024, pp 1-2 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We intend to present certain finer aspects of topics related to statistical estimation—theory and applications. We have been guided by our pedagogical experiences while teaching statistical inference courses at different levels within India and outside as well. We have found that there are certain issues which are taken for granted without having closer look into them. Our primary aim is to discuss these issues—spanning over a number of teaching and research areas. Some of these issues may seem to be simple to start with. As we proceed, the readers will appreciate how existing knowledge gaps are fruitfully explained and covered with relevant theory and worked-out examples.
