Chapter Chapter 6 in Economic Development and Consumption Patterns in Asian Countries, 2024, pp 193-224 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract For over a century, economists have been examining the intricate relationship between consumption of commodities, consumer income, and market prices of commodities and persistently refining their understanding of these relationships. The evolution of theories on consumer behaviour has led to sophisticated mathematical models capturing equilibrium relationships between demand/supply and its determinants.
