Abstract: Abstract The penny-pinching tendency of human beings doesn't stop in the cognitive realm. It seems we're frugal on the physiological front, too. Take, for instance, the conditions of astronauts. Staying in space, they experience a decrease in bone density, especially in weight-bearing bones like the spine, hip, and leg bones. Why? These bones no longer need to support the astronaut's weight against gravity.
