Chapter Chapter 20 in Wellbeing, Values and Lifestyles, 2025, pp 237-249 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, the experiences of three types of countries were studied to define the key junctures and trajectories for sustainable rural transformation: countries that achieved spontaneous transformation; catch-up countries; and countries with an ongoing rural transformation process. Investigating the different experiences and paths of these countries, particularly about the key junctures of the transformation process can enable both policymakes and scholars understand the common laws of rural development from a global perspective. Some policy recommendations for achieving sustainable and just transformation in the Global South are provided at the end of the chapter based on the analysis.
