Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides an account of the author’s involvement in international considerations and discussions on issues regarding new challenges for the global economy in the twenty-first century, focusing on four topics: (1) the policy implications of population ageing in OECD countries, (2) the need to establish a new order for global economic governance, (3) peacepeace and economic prosperity in East Asia as a regional challenge of global concern, and (4) the domestic and international economic and social policy implications of climate change.
