Sharing Economy: A New Take on an Old Growth Driver

Pingfan Qian () and Pengzhan Qian

Chapter Chapter 8 in Industrial Upgrading in China in the Era of New Industrial Revolution, 2024, pp 193-210 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The sharing economy has been widely acknowledged as a promising catalyst for the global economy, embracing diverse models such as commons-based peer production and prosumer-based economic growth. It can be seen as the third model for economic growth, but it is prone to conflicts and confrontation due to policy arbitrage. Therefore, it should follow a pathway different from other platform economies and explore new development models based on community currencies.
