Abstract:
Abstract Chapter 4 discusses the construction of a multi-prefectural IOT. Several inter-prefectural IOTs exist that target specific regions wider than a prefecture: the Kansai region, the Tohoku region, the Chubu region, and the Kyusyu region. We discuss how to create a multi-prefectural IOT, picking up the Chubu region as an example, and discuss the characteristics of each prefecture from the perspective of comparative advantages in production and intraregional dependency due to value-added inducement. For the creation of an inter-prefectural IOT, estimating interregional trade flows among prefectures by sector is important. For this purpose, we can obtain several statistical sources to estimate the interregional trade flow among prefectures that is consistent with the exports and imports of each prefectural IOT.
