Chapter Chapter 2 in Role of Industrial Agglomeration in Regional Economic Activity, 2025, pp 7-29 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter first derives the factory location based on the principle of transport cost minimization, and then its perspective shifts to the derivation of the factory location based on the production cost minimization. After these analyses, the study introduces the agglomeration economies and explains how they contribute to reduce the production costs. Lastly, the study derives the factory location based on the principle of the profit maximization.
