Abstract: Abstract The legend of the foundation of San Marino describes how the state was founded in 301 A.D. by Marinus the Dalmatian, a Christian Stoneman, who escaped the anti-Christian Roman Emperor Diocletian from the modern-day Croatia, where he hid on Mount Titano.
