Chapter Chapter 6 in Introducing Board Gender Diversity to Sri Lanka, 2023, pp 133-170 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In a rapidly changing environment, there is a need for legal research to be conducted in a manner that identifies the workability and effects of law on society. This need is addressed by increasing the body of socio-legal research. This study adopts a socio-legal framing. It is an approach that is based on a philosophical stance that analyses the social significance of “black-letter law.” The adoption of the socio-legal approach in this study provided an opportunity to gain a contextual understanding of how the Sri Lankan corporate community would perceive the introduction of rules on board gender diversity.
