Chapter Chapter 5 in Cleaning and Corporate Management, 2023, pp 61-72 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, the example of Tokai Shin’ei suggests that the sustained practice of cleaning develops three types of employees. A company is an organization that cannot survive unless it responds to the changes and demands of the outside world; it must be able to address the problems that arise in its environment. Each of the three employee types described here plays a different role in a company’s problem-solving efforts. Companies that sustain cleaning over a long period develop all three kinds of problem-solving skills and can therefore address issues that arise both in the short- and the long-term. Employees of each type have their place as indispensable members of the company, and when they cooperate with each other, the company’s ability to address problems further improves. The cleaning-focused company is one where young people can demonstrate their own strengths and work energetically under broad-minded, altruistic managers and leaders who have true compassion for others.
