Abstract The state sector is still crucial to the growth of the global economy. Good corporate governance is essential to ensure that state-owned firms contribute to the economy’s efficiency and competitiveness. This chapter covers the economic role of Vietnam as a growing emerging market in the global economy. An overview of Vietnam’s economic development and role as a key emerging market is provided.
